How the shading works

Each shaded cell is that game's league percentile: the stat is ranked against every team's single-game result that season (all 30 teams, e.g. 2,460 games in a full regular season). 100 is always best, so for DRtg, Opp eFG% and TOV% a low value scores high. Green = better than a typical game, red = worse, untinted = around the 50th percentile.

Example: a 137.8 DRtg at the 3rd percentile means only 3% of games all season had a worse defensive rating.

  • Filters don't change the pool. Games are always compared with the full season, so a percentile means the same thing in every window. Regular season and playoffs are separate pools.
  • Not opponent-adjusted. A big night against a top defense and one against a weak defense score the same.
  • Pace is not shaded. It's a style stat, neither good nor bad.
  • Single games are noisy. Low-volume stats (FT Rate, OREB%) hit extreme percentiles more easily than ORtg or Net. Use the Rolling Ratings chart for trends.
