How this is measured
  • Signings: the Signing trends records for the chosen league years, standard contracts with a stated length (10-day, camp and length-unstated rows are left out), minus first-round rookie-scale deals, whose pay the draft slot sets. The signing team is the team in the log. League figures pool every team's signings.
  • Roster: how each player on the current roster view was acquired, as on Team depth (draft, extension, re-signed, free agent, trade, waiver, signed after a waiver, short-term).
  • Price: first-year salary as a % of that season's cap for multi-year deals, as on Price a deal. Extensions signed ahead: seasons between the league year an extension was signed and the season it starts; two or more means the team extended with two years left.
  • Turned out: the Outcomes tab's measure for the window's deals: share of played seasons where the tier's market price beat what the deal paid, and the median surplus in cap points.
  • The read lists the three measures furthest from the league, and only those with enough deals behind them (8 signings, 4 extensions, 15 played seasons).
